Profile of Sila Collins-Walden
I was born in Manchester and studied art and textiles at Manchester College of Art. I worked as a community artist in hospitals, schools and prisons in the Manchester area. I spent my years constructing large panels and murals for the NHS as well as other public buildings.

Since coming to Scotland I have been inspired by the beautiful countryside and its surroundings. I love the remote and wild places and paint a lot of rocks and mountain scenery. I rarely use a brush, I work mostly with a palette knife and my fingers! My favourite mediums are acrylic and oil, occasionally I use watercolours.
