Profile of Nick Vaughan

Nick Vaughan studied Graphic Design at Birmingham University graduating 1992. Since then he has worked in various fields from design to outdoor education. Encouraged to paint from an early age and inspired by his relative, 'Heath Robinson', Nick has always found the need to paint. The mountains and landscape of the Highlands are a continual inspiration to him.

Nick applies the Trompe L'oeil, (trick of the eye), method to many of his pieces. This technique was invented by the Greeks and developed by the Romans to decorate temples and villas. The effect of this technique is exciting and has endless possibilities.
