ARTIST JANE GLUE DIP AD
Born Orkney 1958
Studied at Grays School of Art, 1975-76 and Harrow college of art, London from 1982-85 graduating with a Diploma in Art and Design/Illustration. Opened her own gallery in Kirkwall, Orkney - Shorelines Gallery in 1987. She recently moved to her own purpose built premises with a teaching studio, gallery and shop in Finstown, Orkney, in 2006, where she is now based.
Commisions
Illustration work:
1985- commisioned to do twelve full page colour Illustrations for a childrens book based around the neolithic Tomb of the eagles in Orkney.
1985- Two book cover Illustrations for the poet George Mackay Browns novels and one cover for a Naomi Mitchison novel commisioned by Richard Drew publishers.
1986- A set of black and white drawings for Catherine Brown’s Scottish cookery published by Richard Drew.
1986- A set of four large composite paintings commisioned by the Highland Park Distillery for their new visitor centre.

Exhibitions
Jane has sold her prints and original work mainly through her own gallery, Shorelines Gallery for the last 20yrs, selling work as far a field as Australia and America direct from the gallery or as private painting commisions.
AOI Gallery, London- 1984, Young Illustrators exhibition. I gained second place for a set of watercolours based around Ernest Hemingways book, ‘The Old Man and the Sea’.
Tankerness House Museum, Kirkwall- 1985 The craftsman at work. Solo Exhibition.
