Profile of David R Mackenzie

Artiste extraordinaire and all round good egg. Reformed gambler, drunkard and womaniser, with absolutely no formal training in art, except for a spell at the Westminster College of Art, London. The inspiration of JMW Turner and T. Ermin kick started his illustrious career into the doldrums. Born in Devon, 1949, then living in Cornwall, David moved to London where, for almost 25 years, he did this and that; more of that than this!

Captured by the beauty of the Scottish Highlands during visits to his mater and pater, David yearned to escape the Big Smoke and to commune with nature. Now living and breathing the good life, his passion for painting is ever increasing and, his work is exhibited throughout the North East. David is a member of Invergordon Art Club and The Art Society of Inverness.
