This is part of a series of news items profiling the artists who will be attending Beauly Gallery as Artists in Residence for Art Around the Firth. Art Around the Firth is Beauly Gallery's contribution to Highlands Open Studio 2011.
The main Highland Open Studio exhibition will be on-show, in the gallery, throughout the month of July. The Artist in Residence days begin on the 23rd July and last for 9 days. Each artist will be available between 12-4pm. The full timetable can be found on this page.
The colour, tone and texture of land open to the elements - particularly in the far north - constantly creates atmosphere that I attempt to capture in my paintings.
Emphasis is increasingly on blend of colours rather than particular detail.
