Beth Robertson Fiddes
Bio
The windswept beaches of the western isles and the bleak drama of the highland landscape have been a prime influence, having spent her formative years on the Isle of Tiree, and later in the shadow of the Monadhliadh Mountains in the Spey Valley.
Using specially prepared gesso grounds and layering glazes of paint, her large dramatic land and seascapes reflect on themes of solitude and scale, while more intimate works study the subtle changes of colour and light at nightfall and daybreak.
