Bryan Islip
Ever since I can remember I have painted in pastels or oils or sketched with pen and ink. Often I have experimented with my first love in the realm of the arts, which was, and still is, the writing of fiction and poetry.
Having spent many wonderful holidays walking the hills or fishing the sea-lochs of Wester-Ross we could think of nowhere better, not to 'retire' but for me to write and paint, now for a living.

Since coming with our dogs to live in Mellon Charles, which is near the village of Aultbea alongside Loch Ewe, we have been more than content with our decision to relocate. Yes, it's a long way from our old stomping grounds, near Winchester, but the distance is not a problem in these days of easy communications. For us, more importantly, peace and quiet is also very easy here in Wester-Ross.
